Megan Erickson M.A. M&ME
Founder / Co-lead teacher
Megan Erickson (she/her) is a dedicated educator with over fifteen years of experience in early childhood education. She has worked in a variety of classrooms and home settings, including Montessori, Waldorf, RIE, outdoor classrooms, and working with children with autism.
Megan holds a Master’s degree in Music & Music Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College, where she focused on designing music curriculum through a social justice lens. She has taught private music lessons for many years and currently teaches voice, piano, songwriting, and guitar at Seattle Drum School, along with group music exploration for children ages 2–5.
She received her B.A. in Dance from the University of Washington and has taught dance in a range of settings. Through Seattle Parks & Recreation, she led creative ballet and tap classes for children ages 2–7, fostering self-expression and building foundational movement skills. Megan loves encouraging dance and movement in the classroom as a way to support gross motor development, spatial awareness, and joyful self-discovery. She also led an intergenerational movement choir for many years at University Unitarian Church, where she cherished bringing people of all ages together through the shared joy of movement.
In 2017, Megan founded The Brave Group, a youth empowerment program for femme-identifying youth ages 7–14. Through music, movement, and creative expression, students built confidence, processed emotions, and found joy in collaboration and self-discovery.
Megan also has a rich background in production work. As a former production manager for Au Collective—a nonprofit centering POC, Queer, and Womxn artists—she produced over a dozen performances, co-led youth and community workshops, helped the organization achieve 501(c)(3) status, and secured grant funding for educational programming.
A musician and songwriter herself, Megan loves sharing the joy of music with children and encourages her students to explore their creativity by making up their own songs.
When she’s not teaching, Megan enjoys paddleboarding, swimming, roller skating, summer camping trips, and hosting cozy dinner parties with friends and family.

Founder/co-lead teacher
Kathryn (She/Her) is an AMI-certified Montessori teacher for ages 0–3. She holds a Master’s in Education from Loyola University and a Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology from The Evergreen State College.
After completing her studies, Kathryn moved to Los Angeles to support a family with triplets and their neighbor with twins by developing a home-based Montessori toddler program. During this time, she also completed the 60-hour RIE® Foundations training with Liz Memel, further deepening her understanding of respectful care.
Kathryn went on to become a founding lead teacher at Discovery Montessori, where she designed and established an infant classroom, mentored teaching assistants, and cared for nine infants ranging from six weeks to 18 months old.
In 2019, she returned to Seattle and has since worked closely with families as a nanny, continuing her commitment to early childhood development.
In 2024, after welcoming her daughter, Kathryn was inspired to create a program where young children—including her own—can play joyfully, explore freely, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Outside the classroom, Kathryn enjoys knitting, sewing, hiking, and learning to play the fiddle.

Who We Are
Megan and Kathryn have been friends since they were 4 and 5 years old, when they met through Wedgwood babysitting co-op. Living three blocks away, they spent summers walking to each others houses, camping, doing arts and crafts and dancing together.
In adulthood they have worked together in multiple capacities both in classroom settings and nanny meet ups. Through this they have developed a shared philosophy that is rooted in respect and autonomy. They have built a flow and strong communication style that is the backbone of this program.
